Speak with Impact

Do you want your words to have more impact when you speak?

Speaking with impact is not just about choosing the right words. It’s about how you hold yourself as you share those words.

Try this quick 2 part experiment:

Part 1

  • Sit or stand looking downwards with your shoulders hunched together and your feet turned inwards. Exaggerate your stance.
  • Now share out loud 3 things you are good at. Notice how well those words come across

Part 2

  • Sit or stand, look forwards, pull your shoulders back and ensure your feet are planted firmly on the ground.
  • Now share out loud those same 3 things you are good at. Notice how well those same words come across this time.

What was different for you?

This is a quick experiment, and you may not really sit or stand quite as badly as you did in part 1, but noticing how you hold yourself as you speak is a step towards ensuring your words have more impact.
