How often do you consider your body posture when communicating?
What difference does it make?
Here’s a quick experiment.
Stand up straight and strong, lengthen your spine, put your head up, spread your arms and
say out loud: “I can’t do it, I’m not confident enough to do this? I don’t know what I’m doing”
How did that go?
Now try this
Put your head down and hunch your body in making yourself as small as possible. Now
say out loud : “I’m strong! I can do anything! I’m a success!”
How did that go?
If you’re like most people, neither one worked well.
Whether we are aware of it or not, our words are more effective when our bodies match.
The next time you want to sound confident and assured, check your body as well as your words.
